U.S. Representative Claude Pepper died on May 30. Congressman Pepper was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 1927. He later served Florida as a U.S. Senator form 1937 - 1951, and became a member of the U.S. House in 1962. He championed the causes of the elderly and the poor and was an outstanding public servant of the state of Florida.
